Fiery Fridays?

I know I'm already not very punctual with my Macro Mondays, but I'm still thinking of creating a new theme day: Fiery Fridays!

This stems from my last macro shoot, and if you've gone on over to my flickr, you can see the rest of the set, especially the ones done in the same style as the last macro picture from the Monday set. I found them so beautiful and mysterious that I've been doing quite a few of them. Mind you, only about 1 in 20 shots come out good, so it's still going to be quite a challenge. I'll start off with four pictures per post, until I've gone through all my buffer of previously done shots. Then they'll start being new ones fresh from that week.

Macro Mondays - Candlelit

Probably my most painful macro session yet. My thumb was rubbed raw from firing up that lighter, especially during the last part.

As I don't want to make this post unnecessarily long (and try to keep my Macro Mondays to a standard of four shots), consider it a preview of the shoot. Therefore, I strongly suggest you go see the entire set here.

Macro Mondays - "Teardrop"

And here's the latest shoot. I actually really worked hard on this one, with lighting and such. The last shots were taken with a handheld flower, with a handheld camera, and an off-camera flash. You should've seen the juggling that was going on. The shots are really good on their own in color, but I decided to try my hand at black and white with proper color balancing. I'm actually very happy about this shoot.

Macro Mondays Resumed!

So, let's revive this thing.

This is a two-part update of macro goodness. The first part is a random shoot as I usually do of things around the house. They're actually of a little while back. But the last shot of the water droplet has been nagging at me for a while, as it was my favorite macro shot I had done.

Last night I decided to try shooting with the same theme again. I'll post the results of that shoot in the second update.

My computer is in pieces, its entrails strewn about on my floor, and my mind hasn't come up with anything worth your while lately.
